Around Bangalore : Road Trip to “Dodda Aladha Mara(Big Banyan Tree)”

Here I am to share one more experience of my Road Trip to Big Banyan Tree, in Kannada Known as “Dodda Aladha Mara“.

The Big Banyan Tree or Dodda Aalada Mara (Kannada) is an attraction situated on the Bangalore-Mysore road. Its a short drive from Bangalore and also well connected by public transport. The Banyan tree is around 400 years old and supposed to be the 4th largest. The tree has spread out with many roots and covers about 3 acres in area.

Still Figuring out why is too famous and hold historical Value?? Ok… Here is the complete reference :

Hope you all find the answer! 🙂

My Road Trip Started from Marathalli and followed the following route :

Marathalli –>Outer Ring Road –>HSR –>Hosur –>NiceRoad –>Mysore Road –>Big bayan Tree.

Total Distance : 48 KM

Toll Charges is applicable on Nice-Mysore road

Roads and surrounding are perfect.. nothing to worry much..! Landmark to be noted to Take the Right From Mysore road to Final Stop is “Rajarajeswari dental college“.

From Rajarajeswari dental college, it is approx 7-8 Km inside. Roads are wide and perfect.

You can Spend 30-1 hour there. There wont find quality food although multiple shops are there.

It is worth to visit once..not too far from Bangalore. Here is the few pics of the Banyan tree taken by me :

Cheers!
